What Army to Get Started With for Fantasy Tabletop Wargaming
July 22, 2026One of the best parts of running a miniature printing community is seeing what happens after a model leaves our workshop.
We spend our time carefully printing, cleaning and preparing miniatures, but the real magic happens when they reach our customers and their creativity takes over. Seeing a collection go from a fresh resin print to a fully painted army is something that never gets old.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce our latest Army of the Month — Sam’s incredible Halfling army!
Bringing the Green Bellies to Life
Sam chose the Green Bellies range by MOM Miniatures, available through UK Resin Print, to create his colourful and characterful Halfling force.
From the moment we saw the finished army, we were blown away by the level of detail, creativity and skill that had gone into every miniature.
The Green Bellies range is packed with personality, featuring charming but battle-ready Halfling warriors that are full of character. Sam’s painting style has taken those details and turned them into a truly unique army that looks like it has jumped straight out of a fantasy story.
A Masterclass in Colour and Detail
What really stood out to us was the incredible use of colour throughout the army.
Fantasy armies don’t always need to be dark and gritty. Sam has shown just how much personality can be created with bright colours, bold choices and carefully painted details.
Every miniature has its own identity, from colourful clothing and detailed equipment to the small touches that make each character feel unique.
The painting quality is genuinely at a professional level, and the finished army is a perfect example of how much impact a beautifully painted force can have on the tabletop.
Why Customer Paint Jobs Mean So Much To Us
At UK Resin Print, we love printing miniatures but seeing what happens afterwards is what makes it truly rewarding.
When someone takes the models we’ve printed and turns them into something like Sam’s Halfling army, it gives the whole team a huge sense of pride.
A resin miniature starts as a digital design, becomes a printed model, and then becomes something completely personal in the hands of the hobbyist. No two armies are ever the same, and every painter adds their own style and imagination.
Seeing customers share their finished armies reminds us why we love being part of this hobby community.
